Could anybody who has stamped on his/her passport help? What is on the stamp? Does it say that it is an employment based permanent resident or no specific category at all? How long does it take to get a physical card? Do we need /or INS will order a card? When? I assume that it will be perfect OK to travel just with the stamp. You do not need to get an AP. Am I right? Thanks for the help.

Stamping experience

I got my Passport stamped yesterday in San Jose, CA. they took
my EAD and AP. They took my finger print (index finger), my signature under the print.

"Temporary permanent residency till sep 5 2003,
Employement Authorized" something like that , printed in red
colour. A# and EAC under the stamp was written with a pen

Plastic card will be ordered by them and might reach us in 4 to 6 weeks after stamping. You can Travel and work with this stamp anytime.

You can get more details if you look at previous posts from seniors

Good Luck.:)
