Stamping question

We did our PP stamping at Newark. After a long wait, inside and outside the building, the security allowed us to go in. The lady in the first window took our fingerprint and signature and asked us to wait till our number is called. After another 3 hours wait, our number was called. The lady in the 2nd window took all our papers (I-94, EAD, AP, photos) and stamped our passport. The stamping says, “Processed for I-551. Temporary evidence ……………………………………………………………valid until………………..Employment authorized “ and also she wrote eac#. Alien #. Etc. in that page. Then she told us ‘this is your green card. You will receive your plastic card with in 6 months to 1 year………You are done with everything, you can go home’. The seal and whatever she wrote in the passport is called “STAMPING”? Couldn’t believe for a minute.

I saw some people (came for stamping), waiting after submitting their documents and passport (submitted, when they were called 2nd time). These people were called third time, to give their passport. I could not understand why some people were called 2nd and 3rd time, and the same lady stamped ours immediately after collecting all our documents. GUYS, ANY IDEA? What is the normal stamping procedure? Submit your documents and get stamping immediately when you are called, 2nd time or submit your documents and passport and wait, to get your passport back.

Thanks

Don't Worry!!
You should know by now that there is no logic with USCIS. What you're describing in your email is the right thing they did for PP stamping. I sam some guys got their GC in a month.

Also...
Did you apply to replace SS card and also Driving license? I just applied yesterday to replace my SS card and going to Trenton on Saturday(They're open 8AM-NOON).

Congratulations and relax!!!You are done with it! Go ahead and enjoy your freedom!!!

Forget about why people are called 2 or 3 times. They're probably called because they need additional documentation. You're done, just relax and wait for the cards to arrive. Should arrive in a month or so after stamping.

Good Luck dude, I also saw the same thing at Hartford, CT center, but I wasn't worried about it cos I got out in first call, and hey thats all matters.
