I went to the office in San Francisco around 7:00am this morning and there were already about 60, 70 people before me. Actually there are two waiting lines, one is a shorter line in 630 Samsome Street, and the other is a longer one in Washington Street. The shorter line is for appointment (reservation?). At first, I was waiting in the longer one. But I am not sure about the shorter one, I went to the line asking a couple of people there. They all said they were there for stamping on Passport. Therefore, I believe at that time this is the right line! Later a security guard came and made an announcement that the line was for appointment. Confused! Some of us showed our papers to him, the policeman guided us to the longer line. So I had to go back to the longer line again. Sigh!

I was allowed to go into the building about 8:00am, passed through security check, and then I was given a ticket. I was processed about 8:40am. The lady officer in the counter 6 asked me first if I brought my AP, EAD, I said Yes and gave those to her (Actually, I was a little bit surprised that she wanted those documents. Anyway I collected and brought all the related stuffs with me). Then she made me sign my signature and do my fingerprints. At last she stamped on my passport and said I would get my card in about 6 months up to one year. I got in my car about 9:10am.

Congratulations!

What is the address for stamping in SF?

my approval stated that i go to San jose. i am planning to go to San Francisco. What is the address there? Did you drive, if so, where did you park your car? Please advice as I am planning to go this Friday or monday.

thanks

If your notice says San Jose...Don't go to SFO....

I went to SFO yesterday. My notice said, San Jose..Thoght I will try my luck. SFO, the crowd is not as bad as San Jose. But the guy inside who gives tokens refused to give me a token, stating that I MUST go to San Jose. I politely tried to convince him. But he refused emphatically. Not a good idea to go to SFO if you live in San Jose jurisdiction.

That might be because they are short staffed this week. When I went for stamping on Monday, ony three of the twelve officer counters were being manned. There was a huge backlog of very annoyed people. I was there most of the day waiting.

The address in my notice paper is 630 Samsome Street. There is a public parking space for Immigration in Samsome Street very close to the Immigration building. Actually, you can see the parking sign before the building. The maximum charge for a whole day is $28, so the quicker you finish your stamping, the less charge for the parking. Good luck!

Even through your letter says the address is 630 Sunsome Street. you should always go to the Washington line, the Sunsome street guard will not let you enter the building using approval notice.

Even for a simple stamping address, the USCIS can't make it clear for the applicants what else you can expect from them? sigh

There is a parking lot at the corner of Broadway and Front that charges $13 for the day, and one across the street from that one that charges $12. Both are less than a five minute walk from the USCIC building. I work in an office one block from the USCIS, so I know!

On my approval notice, it mentioned "RM 200B 630 Sansome" Mon-Fri 8.00am to 2.00pm.

What's exactly is this room 200B? Should I be standing in the shorter line or should I be on Washington St?

Any clue?
Thanks

They all say that. It's wrong. Line up at the Washington St. entrance.

We went to SF office at around 6 am. We were in the long line at Washington Street. The security allowed us into building at :6:45. There was no line inside, we directly went to the counter. We got tokens together after seeing our approval notices. The guy at the counter asked are you still living at the same address. The answer was YES. Infact, we have been living at the same address for 3 years. After waiting for 45 min. Our numbers were displayed. We went to same counter as yours #6. The lady asked for all previous documents. We gave our recent AP, EADs, and approval notices. She took R-INDEX FP. We put our signatures on the blue form. She filled the form. We did not write our address on the form. She did not ask for it. We hope we get our plastic cards to the current address. She stamped our passports. I asked wether we get our approval notices back after stamping. She said it will be submitted for actual card processing. We were out of the buiding at 8:15 AM. We have another wait for plastic card. Hopefully we get it soon.
