Stamping in LA still need appt. or not?

Hi all,
I got my Approval Notice for my I-485.

It didnt say that I need to make any appt.
Did they change the procedure now??

I read 'cennai671' posting that he made INFOPASS appt.
and was not allowed with out it.

But my Approval Notice said:

"The address of your local INS office is:

Room 1001, 300 North Los Angeles St., Los Angeles, CA 90012

Hour for this process: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am - 12:00 noon

Please direct your questions to the office listed here. You may appear at the above office on the days and times specified.

If anyone went to the LA office for stamping recently, can you please inform?

Its definitely better to get an InfoPass appointment --

atleast they are sticking to the appt times and you don't have to go early and all that -- you are lucky to be in one of the few places with InfoPass - go make the appt :)
 
I am not able to make an appointment using the Infopass system. So I called up and the lady told me that infopass system has been going down and behaving erratically since last friday.. will be up by tonight or tomorrow morning.

I went to the Santa Ana center which is nearby to us. They confirmed this thing. They also told me that you have to have an appointment using infopass. Without it, you're not allowed to meet any officer!

Let's see what happens tonight...

I wasn't aware of Infopass. Heard about it but dont know
exactly what it was...

I'll try making the appt. tommorow.

Today morning I went to LA office, I had to return back because I didn't have an appointment. Those who were in the long queue were asked to take an appointment in the KIOSKS inside the building. ALL the three KIOSKS were dead today and many of us to return after a 2 hour long wait in the queue. When I enquired with one of them , he replied that without appoitment they will not entertain.

Take an appointment online. I got it for July 2nd at 7:30 AM.
