Hi speedy1027,

I got my stamping done on Jan21, and has not recieved any update so far. I would update you when I recieve plastic card. The immigration officer at the counter told me that it would take 6-7 months before I would recieve the card. Not sure if that is something generic they tell to everyone or that is the case now days.

Contradictory to this, one of my friend did stamping in first week of December, 2004 at Charlotte center, and recieved plastic card with in 4 weeks.

What did immigration officer tell you? Please let me know if there is any other relevant information on this.

Thanks!

Let us see...

grinfo,
well, my best guess is that the time they said is more like a safe stance. I firmly believe that it is a generic response to all - both I and my wife did our stamping in 2 separate windows, and we both got the same answer from the representative there. I know few others who did their stamping at the Charlotte office and got their cards under 1 month. Let us wait and hope for the best.

I will keep you posted if I recive them ahead of you.

Cheers,

Grinfo,
My LUD changed (same way you track your I-485 approval). It says, on Feb25 new card was ordered for both me and my wife (my wife went for stamping 4 days after I did).

Will let you know once we receive the cards in mail.

Aravind,
I hope so too...-however, I would think that it seems to take about a month to actually start requesting a card from the date of stamping(at least for people who have done their stamping here @ Charlotte).

Let us see what happens- good luck for your cards & keep us posted.

I checked my immigration portfolio today, my LUD changed on Feb 10, 2005, but haven't had any online status change so far. Not sure what it means!

Mine and my wife's LUD changed again today. Status reads as "On March 1, 2005, the card order was completed and we mailed the
applicant's new card directly to him or her. If 14 days have passed and you
have not received this card, you may wish to verify or update your
address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service

Grinfo (and others who might be interested),

Both me and my wife got our cards in the mail on Friday (03/04) - everything is printed correctly - it felt strange to hold the cards in our hands - I was like...is this the card for which what I (and many others) struggle for...(I can't even remember how many days/months I spent dreaming of the day when I would have the card in my hands) - strangely I felt neither joy nor extreme happines....just relief that the struggle is over so far - but it is ironic that DHS sends cards of such critical importance in a simple non-secure mail.

Anyways, good luck all of you waiting for your cards.

cheers,

Hi speedy1027 and all,

I also recieved my plastic card on Friday 03/18, everything seems to be printed fine. Yes, it's a very strange feeling to realize that this was it.... It does create a vaccum for a moment.

Take care, it's not so far for you too!
