I got approved on July 10th and since I was moving back to houston On this thursday, I was eagerly awaiting for my approval letter so
I would get my PP stamped at Arlington, VA and then move to Houston rather than getting into a complicated situation.
Well , I didn't the letter so finally on my last day in VA, i took a chance
, didn't sleep a wink, packed all night, and went to Arlington center at 3.55 am
I was first in line, and felt good abt my chances.
They opened at 7.30 am.
I told the nice lady officer that I was travelling to India next day and so could you please work with the e-mail printout.
She then checked my case in her computer , took a printout, stamped my passprt.
Asked for my old EADS & ADIT photos.
And I was done with my stamping by 8.30 am.

Now this happened at Arlington ,va. Does not mean all centers accept the e-mail printout.
if anyone else planning to use the e-mail printout, pls check the stories at their respective local centers.
or else be the 1st to try and tell us all your story.

Congrats! A few questions?

Goastros,

First appreciate your bravery, and congratulations!

I also got a few questions about the procedure of your case. Let me guess:

1. You filed your application at TSC probably from Houston, and transferred it to VSC covering Arlington, VA.

2. You got the approval email from VSC or local office in Arlington, VA, other than from TSC.

3. You were coming back to Houston. However you wanted to be PPed in Arlington, VA, before taking the trip. And you took the chance successfully.

Maybe I am totally wrong, please post more information of your case. It would be helpful to those who filed application at one service center and moved out to somewhere covered by another service center, like my case.

Thanks and congrats again,

goastros,

I REALLY commend you for your courage...

Congrats….happy moving to hot, humid Houston… :p

By the way, I'm planning to update the plastic tracker in a few days….please insert your info and enjoy sitting in the back seat for a change. It is MY turn to drive this time...

For those who do NOT know what I’m talking about, goastros was VERY instrumental in updating a VERY informative tracker, namely “Members Sheet”. As most of us know, the sheet tracked hundreds of I-485 applicants as they went thru the agonizing process.

Again, congrats goastros and welcome to Houston…

Hanz, for past few days , my case has been well publicized, so I didn't write much details in my last e-mail.

MY case was never transferred to VSC.

I got the approval e-mail from USCIS-CSO. whereas the approval letter came from TSC on Thursday after I had already stamped.

Yes I have moved back to my house in houston.
Now my next step will be to file for AR-11, call the 800 number for change of address cos I still have to get
1> the plastic card for myself
2> My wife's case which unfortunately has been xferred to DC local office
3> her pending 765 application.

Seems no need to transfer from one to another service center

Thanks a lot, Gastros, for sharing your information. It seems that one does not need to transfer his/her case to another service center. But, the address change has to be informed to USCIS by AR-11 and calling 1-800-375-5283. Congratulations again! Good luck further!

Goastros,

when I wrote "please insert your info" in the tracker...

I actually meant that you share with us your info in this thread...AND I'LL DO THE UPDATING this time
