Stamp on the Passport

My wife was approved for her grenn card last month and we did receive the physical card a few weeks ago. But now she wants to take a trip with me next week for a few days to Canada. And from reading the Canadian website she doesn't need a temp. visa to visa Canada because she is a US Perm. Resident. Whereas before she needed a Visa to visit Canada because she is from Romania. But according to their site she just enters Canada like any US citizen but has to show the physical greencard and needs a stamp in her passport.

So I am wondering, where can we get the stamp in her passport? Should we be able to just show up at the local USCIS office and ask them for it? Or do we need to make an appointment for it?

Actually their site just says she needs to bring acceptible proof of her US Residentancy so maybe we don't even need the stamp but it couldn't hurt. It woudl suck to drive 3 hours to the border to be turned away.
