SSN with iEAD

Hello,

My wife got her iEAD last week. Can she apply for her green card on the basis of her iEAD.

My ND is 08/23/02. I guess it will be a long time for AOS approval. And as regards to my EAD, it is still in queue.

What are the pros and cons of applying for a SSN on the basis of an iEAD.

Any suggestions or comments will be helpful.

My wife applied for SSN with an iEAD. I think this is as harmless as it can get.

I only see pros, and no cons.

The only cons could be if your wife is not really planning to apply for a job now, she can wait until getting the GC, so she gets a SSN without restrictions. Anyway, as you'll probably have to go to apply for a new card, you can go together as we did.
