SSN question

I140 currently under RFE.

Working on H1.
Wife on H4.

Both Have EAD's not being used.

Question : Just By applying for SSN for wife does it construe that she change her H4 status. I.e. if she has an SSN does it mean she no longer is an H4. She is not planning use the EAD per se until my I140 is approved.

Applying SSN has nothing to do with status change.
