SSN on I765 question

this is my 2nd applying for i765.
and for question 9, i supposed to put SSN.
but i don't remember SSN, and don't have the social security card.

i got my number and card before, but i just forgot those.

since i am a student, i didn't work. and just attended school.
so, there is no one who has my number, except social security deparment office.

my qeustion is can i leave it blank?

it looks like #9 is an optional question. (they say "if any")

or, do i have to find out the SSN and put it there??

Form I-765, and its Application For Employment Authorization. Form SS-5 to replace lost SSN Card. You can replace your Social Security card for free if it is lost or stolen.

Yes as F-1 student you have the advantage of getting the SSN which you can use to work onsite or offsite as well. Along with Form SS-5 you would require identity proof and immigrant status proof.
