SSN for Kid, Got 485 approval and Stamp on PP

Hi,

I got 485 approval and got my PP stamped, and my 4 year old baby got her green card ( plastic card ), already.

we were on H1 before.

So, our baby was on H4 and she has her Tax ID.

I want to know, If I have to apply and get a new SSN for her ?

Or her Tax id is enough ?

Can some one please help me ?

SSN for children

Hi

You can visit the Social Security office in your city with the passport and GC card. As a parent, you have to fill-up a simple form with name and information about your daughter.

You will get the SS card in mail within 14 days.

They will give you a print out with a 1-800 number to enquire about the status of the card.

You don't need any TAX ID for filing tax returns, in future.
