SSN denied to an Asylee?

Got my SS card yesterday!

Yesterday my new, unrestricted, SS card came in a mail.
It took them one full month to issue it.
I applied on September 25, called back SS office with an inquiry on October 18.
On October 19 they finally send me a receipt saying I’ll get my card in two weeks.
I got it yesterday. :)
Did you get your card yet, Punjabi?

Congrats Peach

Congrats Peach, I'm happy for you. I have got my Senator and Office of Refugee Resettlement involved. I also made a call yesterday to their Baltimore office. The guy I talked to seemed pretty nice. I'll give him couple of days to get back to me. If not, I'm just thinking to go to a different office.

Ead

Hi guyz.
i got Asylum on May 28, 2002.
just visited this forum and was surprised that asylees dont need EAD.

can anyone please give me any link to official website that states that, as I spend every year around $175 for me and for my wife. :(

i really appreciate to get that information. :D

also if somebody knows these terms RD, ND, AP, AD, LUD that are commonly used in these forums will help me better understand different thing.

about SSN. i came here on H1, so the first SSN card i got had the INS restriction after the asylum approval i went to local social security office and gave them my approval notice and old card they mail me new card without any restriction although the number is same.

Here is what I know

Butt Saab, Here is what I can share;

http://www.ssa.gov/immigration/documents.htm

http://uscis.gov/graphics/services/asylum/types.htm
These links will indicate that Asylee are entitled to un-restricted SSN. In addition, there was a memo which stated that Asylees don't need EADs anymore if they so choose.
RD = Receipt Date
ND = Notice Date
AP = Advanced Parole
AD = Approval Date
LUD= Something to do with Labor certification approval.
Hope this helps...
