Have you checked with your Senator?
Why would it take so long in your case when most of the sept cases are done.?
Trust me, get it checked soon.
By the way, is there a time limit for motion to reopen?.
I read it somewhere that one can apply for MTR within 90 days of denial of GC. What happens if the denial notice reaches you say after 35 days. You basically lose 90-35=55 days.
Any suggestion?

Is it Bengali? If a Tamilian does the same, imagine the backlash against them (For the record I am not a Tamilian). Poor guys either something is wrong with them or everyone hates Tamil.

munnabhai, I guess you would have learnt Bengali by watching videos too :).

Guys,

SORRY for starting this language thing !!!!

We should have been posting in English, but we were just talking silly

:)

On July 14th I received a mail from our Senator George Allen's Office from the Congressional Liason at INS.

(Exact words)

Emily (The name of the senators office contact)

The I-140 was the hold up on the I-485. Apprently, there was a notice of intent to revooke on the I-140 and response to this notice was received in late April. The I-140 was "reapproved" (for lack of a better word), on May 28. The I-485 was then sent to adjudication. An officer has yet to assigned to the application. Please allow 60-90 days.

Then the finger printing notice came and AP got approved, sent out for EAD renewal.

So really dont know what to do ????/

From the "che", "koro" and a lot of "O" sounds, I figured it was Bengali. Plus, Sai had mentioned, sometime back, that he was from Bengal. :)

But, the start of his post sorta confused me .. the "bondhu" word. I thought that was either Marathi or Hindi. Probably, it is in Bengali too...

The word "bandhu" or as bengalis says "bondhu" is sanskrit. It comes from bandhan (to bind or unite).

As most north Indian and some south Indian languages have their roots in Sanskrit, the words do overlap.

Bondhu is commonly used for friend in Bengali

Bhagavad-gita lists six kinds of relationships -
Su-hrd: one who grants benevolence without expecting a return
Mitra: one who feels an affection
Ari: an enemy
Udasina: one who does not take sides
Madhya-stha: a well-wisher to both parties in a dispute
Dveshya: one for whom one has a dislike (irrespective of the other party's feelings)
Bandhu: kinsperson

A bandhu loves only because of a congenital or marital relationship, whereas a su-hrd and mitra do so with no other relationship except that of good-hearted affection.

Don't you guys think the actual concern by rajivghatak was sidetracked due to these language related discussions?

Rajiv
You have pretty much done everything. The only thing that I would now do would be to remind the senators office that 60 days have past and I have not heard anything yet. I do understand the 90 days caveat but since your case is so old he should/might listen.
Alternatively, I would try to contact the local congressperson also using the plea that the senator is busy.
I would personally go to the congressperson's office and try to meet him. If one is polite and knows how to be persuasive, chances are a lot better.
My congressperson's office was very responsive in my case.

Good Luck !

Rajivghatak - My I-140 was revoked saying I don't qualify for the job. Labour was cleared with atleast an associate degree but I have Masters. Stupid IIO revoked as i don't have an associate degree. My lawyer sent a response explaining that I am qualified for the job as it required only an associate but I have a masters and got re-approved.

rajivghatak,

I thought you are already got the interview letter. Your case was transferred at the end of Dec'01, right? I'm also waiting for the interview letter with TD Oct'01. Many other guys already got interview letter with TD date in March-June'02, whereas we didn't receive anything. Did you visit Arlington office recently?
