Hi! Actually i was looking for the answer how to process for spouse as i am a green card holder? But my story is little bit complicated so i am looking forward if you guys know some of it and could help me. I have been here in US for past 7 months. I came thru dv lottery process. I was single while i got the visa and before leaving for US, i happened to marry my girlfriend. So im thinking now to apply for her.will that make any complication??? can i do regular process like evryone does or do i need to hire a lawyer?
Thank you for your answers in advance.

Normally, if you get married before you become a permanent resident, your spouse can immigrate immediately as your derivative. However, for DV, the principal and derivative immigrants must all get their visas before the end of the fiscal year (end of September), and if they don't for whatever reason, they lose the ability to immigrate based on this DV. So your spouse cannot immigrate as your derivative anymore. You can petition for her now as the spouse of a permanent resident, which is in the F2A category. There is currently a wait for visa numbers of 1-2 years in this category, and only after that can she go through the process of getting an immigrant visa.

So you mean i can just go thru regular process...just file i-130 and wait..
Thank you
Yes.

I think your question was that does getting married after getting the visa and before entering the U.S. cause you any issues. But I don't think it should unless they asked you about your marital status on entry or something and you said single.
