First of all congratulations. I read earlier your wife had some problems. My wife is going for interview on 23rd this month (Follow-to-join). Can you kindly post the experince, that will be great help.

My wife had her appointment on 21-dec. She went to the interview
with three wedding pictures , marriage certificate etc.
They asked for more wedding pictures and copies of emails/telephone bills/letters as a proof of our communication and asked her to come back with them. She went with eight more wedding pictures, copies of
my US telephone bills with long calls to a cell number in India,
invoice of the purchase of the cell phone under my name.
Her visa was approved on 27-dec.

that was very fast with the cards u are our resident expert on marriage and cp what kind of questions do they ask the spouse at the interview do they ask how did u meet the husband etc or is it sufficient to say its an arranged marriage
did u put in the pkt 3 straight for her? how long did it take for her to get the interview?

Hi sricp,
    They did not ask my wife about the marriage. They asked her
when did I return to US after the marriage. They asked for more proof
like extra wedding pictures, proof of comminication.

Before leaving to US I mailed my wife\'s packet 3 to the consulate.
It contained
a) Cover letter explaining marriage after immigrant visa interview.
b) Copy of our marriage certificate.
c) Copy of her SSLC mark sheet (since she did not have her birth registered. Later we got two affidavits and non-availability certificate for the interview).
d) Copy of her passport pages.
e) OF-169 with her name as primary and case number blank.
I didn\'t know I should use my name and case number then.
e) OF-230 Part 1 for my Spouse.

Packet 3 couriered on Sep 21 using Blue Dart.
Interview Scheduled on Dec 21. Exactly three months.

2) 3 Immigration Photos ( two signed and one unsigned)
3) Original appointment letter with name and case number
4) OF-230 Part 1 signed and OF-230 Part 2 unsigned.
5) Marriage Certificate original and one copy
6) Three wedding photos (later asked to come back again with more photos and telephone bills, emails, letters as proof of communication
between us).
7) Non-availability of birth certificate (not registered) Original and one copy.
8) Two affidavits from both of her parents. Originals and one copy each.
9) SSLC mark sheet. Original and one copy.
10) Original signed and US notarized affidavit of support I-134.
11) Copy of US notarized employment letter. (The original of this
letter was already submitted during my interview).
12) My last three years US tax transcripts.
13) My last three months bank statements.
14) My last three months pay stub
15) Medical reports.
16) IRS-9003 form
 
did u do CP too or did u do 485 ?

Hi,

I have applied for 485 and the process is going on.
My 6 year quota gets over in 2003 april. I am planning to
get just registered marriage to solve the problems. Later on my real
religious marriage (according to relatives) will happen and then only she will come to usa. So, meantime, to have the process going on ,
can i do "Following to join" for her in Consulate Process while i am doing 485 process. IS that possible ?
Since she wont come to usa till religious marriage, is it possible that i can do following to join in 485 ? If so, has she has to live with me ?
Or is it ok to file CP while i have my 485 going on ?
