Spouse name endorsement on PPT 4 Mumbai

I was wondering if any one knew whether it was possible in the interests of time to have the spouse name endorsed on the passport after the initial submission of docs to blue dart, but definitely before the day of interview for a 1st time H4 (at the Mumbai consulate)?

Better get the spouse name endorsed in PP from Worli passport office, get the help of some agent give them “Chai Pani “ and it can be done same day or next day, many agents are sitting out of worli passport office. Mumbai US consulate needs the spouse name on PP
if your wife is applying for H4 she can also get new passport copy with married name in 2 days from Mumbai Passport office, she has to fill up the application form pay the fees, photographs current copy of passport and marriage certificate copy
 
Thanks Ginnu for the response. Does this have to be done before Blue Dart gets the packet -OR- can I do it after packet submission, but before the interview?

Also I see postings with regards to employment verification letter being more than just a verification - people are talking about employers introducing spouses of their employees in the letter...

Thoughts?
 
before the interview or before you send the PP by blue dart. When you send PP or go for interview add the spouse name BEFORE that or get new PP copy with new married name. She should send PP by Blue Dart or going directly for interview, she should first get her PP corrected
Employer has to provide letter for H1 holder that he is working with them, wages, skills, job title it is not needed that they should write about your spouse as she is not working with them and her H4 is based on your H1b

Wedding fixed for 10/30. Leaving for the US 11/15 (and would like my wife to join me). Her consulate jurisdiction would be the Mumbai consulate (name endorsement on PP, 1st time interview et al).

In the interests of time (for spouse endorsement on PP), is it possible for me to do the spouse endorsement on PP before 10/30 by way of a civil/registered marriage. If so, any implications to the H4 visa process? (We would be providing wedding photographs and be in compliance with other required documentation for the post 10/30 interview).

------ First go for registered marriage/civil marriage get the marriage certificate and apply for spouse endorsement on PP or she should get new PP with married name. Talk to any Passport agent in Bombay, you will find many before Worli Passport office.

Your plan sound reasonable. I am planning exatly the same thing. Land in mumbai, next day go for civil marrage, get a wedding certi and third day get endorsement done. Doesnt seem any big deal. You should be fine.
