Hi,

My I485 got approved on Jul1st. But my wife's [ dependent on my case ] got transferred to local office [chicago] on Jul14th. The transfer letter says it is for speedy processing.

Is this common? any similar experiences...

I had waited for more than a year after my I140 and applied for 485 immediately after my marriage. is this becaus of that?

The status page says that the chicago office is processing Aug 25 2002 RD. My RD is Aug 9th. So should i expect some response in near future?

I am planning on going for my stamping next week.. is it advisable to take here with me and try enquiring about the case?

What documents should i take?

Thanks in advance..

Probably. The closer the marriage date is to the I-485 filing the more suspicious USCIS will be. Make sure you can provide proof of your marriage - do you have joint bank accounts, a shared deed on the house, etc. etc.?

If the primary applicant is approved you have little to worry about, so just take the next few weeks and months until the interview to accumulate evidence of your shared life together. Ensure your spouse has ID proving proof of residence at the same address as you. Give her half of the house. Share your bank accounts, that sort of stuff.

Get yourself stamped. Take her along, although if it's less than a month since the transfer don't expect the local office to give many (if any) details.

Thanks a lot TheRealCanadian...
I will start collecting documents proving shared life...

Anybody out there who is/was in similar situation, please
share your experience..
