Spouse EAD/receipt not received - been 3 months

Folks,

b My wife and I applied for 485 and EAD during the first week of Nov 01. I received my EAD card by the end of Dec 01(surprising!). My wife has received her 485 receipt, but she neither received her EAD receipt nor the EAD card.

b Anybody experienced similar situation? Any guesses as to what\'s happening with INS? I called my lawyer\'s office to see if they actually sent in my wife\'s application, and they say they did and giving me all kinds of BS as to why it\'s being delayed. Do I need to talk to an IIO to figure out what\'s going on? because obviously we can\'t use their AVM with no A#.

Some thoughts ...

I got into a similar situation and found that my cheque had not been debitted earlier and have concurred that they misplaced my application. Hence I filed again with the new fee for $120. Forget the old application. Check if they have deducted the cheque and if so, write a letter to them (INS) asking for the EAD receipt.
 
RedNinja- A# will be in the 485 receipt

So you can use that to follow the EAD application with INS...

Call INS to find status of your wife\'s EAD application. If its in process, You may try to go to local INS office for temporary card.
My case was little different. My wife didn\'t receive her EAD card even after two months of approval. We went to local ins office with EAD approval notice(send by INS to the lawyer) and got the card.
