Spouse Approval

I am the primary applicant and got approved on 03/22. But its more then a week and spouse case is still not approved...its the same \'resumed...\' message for her.
Lawyer spoke to INS and they said somehow files got seperated and her file is with some officer.

Anybody else had similar situation, please share your experience.

I\'m in the same boat as you. My RD was 06/23/01 and me being the primary applicant got approved on 03/19, my spouse is still waiting for approval. I got my PP stamped on 03/29 and plan on calling the IIO to find out why my spouse has not been approved yet. Let\'s keep in touch and good luck.

same thing here too !!!

My approval was received on 3/7/02, still waiting for spouse approval. for FP went together, spouse EAD came after one month of mine(primary appl).

This is happening only with people with June RD. Another guy with June RD who got approved around Mar22 had same problem but he never replied.
So, is there any problem with your wife\'s application. I mean Medical not done etc. In my case lawyer said that files got seperated but I don\'t beleive. He said that after his call file is assigned to the officer.
So better call ASAP. Do keep in touch.....

I applied for my (primary applicant) 485 on 6/23/01 and then got married in june, hence i applied for my husband as a follow to join application in december. He got his EAD and FP fairly quickly but looks like the approvals are being sent out seperately. Since we applied for him on our own i don\'t kno if there would be a possible reason for delay but i will call VSC tomorrow morning to get more details and let u folks know. Thanks for your response munu.

Spouse RFI

Hey guys - My spouse just got an RFI in the same situation. I was approved on 25th.

We are waiting for the notice to arrive, but the automated message has already changed tp RFI. RD July 10, ND August 28th

I wonder what do they want from a souse?

Case with spouse

Munu - my case is straightforward as well. No complications. All information was filed by one of the biggest law firms.

However, my spouse nationality is Iranian, and I believe it has something to do with that. We included all information ..medical, tax forms, paystubs, etc...

When was the message changed to \'RFE sent...\'.
Was there any complication with your spouse case.

And also on the \'processing resumed....\' message, did you guys had same date or different.
 
Same here. Just talked to a very nice IIO. Spouse will get RFE

My case was approved on 3/11/02 (RD:6/22/01). I just called and talked to a very nice IIO. She requested to talk to my spouse otherwise she can not release the info. She told my spouse a RFE is ordered and not sent out yet.
She said it will tell her what to do...
So, calling INS regarding a situation like this is right decision. If I have not called INS today, God knows how long we will wait to get that RFE.
...I am guessing what else they will request.
 
No. I have waited for 3 weeks. AVM never changes...

Today, I have decided it is the time to call.
After we get RFE letter, we will respond immediately...

Munu -

My case was approved on 25th March; my spouse called INS on 27th and IIO told him that RFI will be issued, but they have to wait 10 days by law (GOD KNOWS WHAT LAW) to publish this info. I checked today and his message finally changed to RFI was sent on March 29th and it takes 14 days to arrive. I have been checking every day and the message just changed in the morning.

by the way, IIO never told us what was the matter with the case. When my husband mentioned that he is a dependent, she told him...may be marriage certificate was missing. It was not missing..our application was complete.

Munu - yes, my spouse is working. He had H-1 visas with 3 companies; and he was originally F1 student as I was. Currently, he has EAD and AD through my application.

All his information including F1, H1 (3 approval notices), and former EAD cards were included in the app.

My assumption is that they will ask for employment letter...even though he is not a primary applicant.
