***** Spouse 485/ead/ap *****

Thx 2 ginnu, pratyx and others who responded to this thread. USCIS has accepted my spouse's 485 package without medicals.

How do I send medicals when its done? Do I need to enclose copy of 485 receipt along with sealed medical report? what else should I send along
with medical report[ex:cover letter]?

fast_gc_seeker,

my suggestion is wait for USCIS to issue a RFE for the medicals and follow the steps indicated in the RFE. technically, USCIS should not approve 485 without medicals but looking at other threads in this forum, USCIS has approved some cases without ever requesting medicals...so u may never need to do it:)

good luck

praytx, thx for advise but I'm almost done with medicals and would like to go ahead and send it instead of waiting for RFE.

questions:

1) Any special VSC address for sending this? any specific department?

2) I had entered my home address for I-485 but somehow the receipt goes to my employer. Why is this? The DMV here asks for ORIGINAL 485 receipt for issuing ID and DL. What should I do if my employer refuses to give ORIGINAL 485 receipt?

fast_gc_seeker,

I am in TSC and am not to familiar with the VSC. In general, the 485 application form has the address for each center. However, recently the USCIS issued a statement indicating there was a change in mailing address for different services for different service centers. From what I recall, they were implementing the changes in phases and from what I recall, TSC was going to be affected for applications filed after 3/05. I am not sure if you are affected by this but I would check it out.

IMHO, and from what I have read on this forum abt other cases, if you send in your medicals separately from the app, there is a chance that USCIS may misplace them and not 'tie-it' to the 485 application and as a result you may end up doing it all over again when the RFE is issued. If you send it after USCIS has issued a RFE, there is a much smaller chance this could happen. no one is sure how USCIS operates but now you know the history:) and can take a decision based on that.

as for your second issue, did you file 485 and 140 concurrently? and if so, did you file form G-28 for the apps? seems like u may be a victim of USCIS error. i suggest calling the 800 number and see if they can send you the receipt directly?

good luck.
