Folks
Having got my US Citizenship I am planning to sponsor my parents and in the process of arranging all the docs needed I uncovered a sticky issue as following:
The age mentioned in the Marriage Certificate of my father is incorrect when compared to his passport. Thus the question is - what to do about this? AFAIK marriage certificates in India cannot retroactively corrected. Also my parents being quite old do not have any presentable marriage photos. As an option if I say the certificate is lost and present an affidavit I am hearing the consulates are asking for marriage photo which we do not have. If i do submit the certificate and they catch the issue they will just put the ball in our court to correct it which again cannot be retroactively done.
For proof on the other hand....I can provide my father's 'Pension Book' , 'Bank Pass Books' ....all held jointly with my mom.
So in this scenario what do you 'gurus' out there advise me to do?
Thanks a lot for your inputs.
