Hi,

I want to sponsor my mother, what forms I need to fill?

She is in my home country and I want to apply from here in US. I don't work, stay home with my kids but my husband works. can I still sponsor her?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

yes you can sponsor her. The financial sponsor can be your husband or any relative who are responsible until 10 years of accumulation of SS work credits or she takes up US citizenship which ever is earlier.

IF you are a USC who is 21 years of age or older, you may file an I-130 for a parent. The I-864 Affidavit of Support is a separate issue. YOU as the petitioner MUST file one even with ZERO income, you may get help from other USCs and LPRs as joint or co- sponsors.

You can very easily sponsor your mother if you are a US citizen and your zero income will not affect it. Your husband can financially account for your mother also by acting as a co-sponsor. You can check the instruction on form I-130 for more help in detail. Good Luck.
