sponsoring by a person that is already sponsered ?

I am sponsering my wife and she just arrived in Canada from China. We would like our niece in China to come and stay with us in Canada.

Can my wife sponsor our niece, even though my wife is sponsered right now ?

Or, can we just adopt our niece ?

Or, is it possible for me to sponsor a second person, my niece ?
