feels good knowing you are going through the same thing others are.

anyway my story is that I am a citizen born here and I am sponsoring my wife. I sent in the application a week ago to the los angeles office.

I will keep you posted about that.

on to my question.

my wife is the youngest of 4. the brother and the milddle sister are still in korea. Her and the older sister are here. Her older sister is now a citizen.

my wife also wants to bring her other sister and her son here (The sister is currently married but she intends to leave the bastard there anyway). The plan is for the older sister to be the sponsor since she is now citizen. However I've been reading that this process can take anywhere from 10 to 15 years.

Once we file the i-130 what to do in the meantime?

from what I understand she will be rejected for a non-immigrant visa if an i-130 is already pending. Also from what I understand the H-1 visa is only good for a maximum of 6 years. Also any ideas if the process for getting a green card is faster if an employer sponsors you?

I would appreciate some feedback on this

You can find an employer to file an Employment immigrant visa, which will entitle her to get a Legal Permanent Resident status. All of this depends on the qualification of the applicant and her skills. Yes, you are right it takes about 10-15 years to get a sibling to come to the United States.

That is a thought I have considered.

she does have a bachelor's degree.

also I know she can get here as an F-1, if necessary, because she has been here before under that category.

we also have a brother-in-law who is a business owner.

but if she can be admitted on a work visa wouldn't it just be easier and faster to get the employer to sponsor her for a green card?

First bring your wife's mother/father through her sister. No waiting time. Just one year.
Within 2 years they get citizenships. Let them sponser their sons and daughterds wait time is 5 to 6 years. (Instead of 15 years)

that's probably the best way to do it except that her parents are well into their 60s and are pretty much set where they are. They don't speak any english and don't really care to learn.
