Sponsor Views Insanity

Hello there, Lucy, and other experts!
I was wondering if perhaps anyone could help me. My HRR waiver file (based on exceptional hardship to USC spouse)is incomplete due to missing of the Sponsor Views. It has been over 6 months already since the Sponsor Views request was sent by DOS. I called the DOS's waiver division and they even gave me the name and the contact information of the person they addressed the Sponsor Views request to!! The guy used to work for USIA - now a part of DOS. I left him voicemail and faxed my polite inquiries about DOS's request. What would you do in my case? My wife wants to try to ask our State Representative to help. Good idea? After all, that official is supposed to be a public servant, right?
Thank you,
I-613blues

After not getting a response from the USIA (from what I know, my sponsor's program has been cancelled a few years back) during three and half months, the status of "Sponsor Views (Unacceptable)" has been added to my file. Then, two weeks later, a new request has been initiated, but this one went to a university instead of the sponsor. I haven't asked an officer anything to initiate this action. The university replied promptly, and the "sponsor views" was received two weeks later. Usually, a school would issue a positive view (they don't really care, unless they have some red flags on you). The favorable DOS recommendation for a hardship waiver (USC child) has been issued five weeks later.

Thanks cvv011. I am going to try to contact the waiver division again and ask if they could initiate a sponsort views request to the school I attended

my school (IO) cared enough to tell me they'd never say they'd support my application for a waiver. My professors signed the letter needed for my no-objection letter....

I finally got a hold of someone at Public Inquiries Division of DOS who was able to take a look at my case beyond the status that I can look up myself online. She said they never ask the school for Sponsor Views and simply wait for the answer from the original sponsoring agency. I was a bit surprised and I told her that I have already been waiting 6+ months. She told me that it sometimes takes even longer to the sponsor views and that it was "normal" to wait more than 6 months. Do you guys think she was talking out of her "arse"?
Aghhggrr the bliss of dealing with the red tape...

It's been 6 weeks since DOS sent sponsor view request, as my file said,
but I did contact my sponsor, and the problem was that they didn't received anything for me. Does it take so much time for DOS to sent the request, or something is wrong? Appreciate any answer.
