"sponsor" out of status mexican employee?

I have an employee who is highly qualified for his position as a computer programmer/IT administrator. He has post graduate credentials from UNAM university in Mexico City. He is currenly "out of status" on his visa (tourist). Is there any means for me as an employeer to "sponsor" him in such a way as allowing him to be current with his immigration status? Please direct me here or send me to the correct forum for such a question.
