Sponsor and Bankruptie

Ok so I have been in the US for a while now.

My ex was my sponsor to get my green card however my mother in law (her mom) was the financial sponsor as my ex wife wasn't making enough.

Since then, my ex wife ran me for over 3 years thru divorce court forcing me to file for bankruptie.

Part of the financial sponsor papers said that my ex mother in law was financialy responsible for me and would have to support me or reimburse the state in cases like bankruptie or welfare, ....

What are the facts? Will my ex-mother in law have to pay for my bankruptie ?

The one who filed the I-864 on your behalf should be the one responsible here..

unless

1. You have lived in the US for 10 years
2. are deported from the US
3. are a US Citizen Now
or
4. Death.

you should talk to an immigration attorney to see how you can enforce this financial obligation.
