Hi All,
Spoke to my lawyer and requested to send fax inquiry for my case:
RD: 09/25/01
ND: 11/16/01
FP: 01/31/02
AD - Awaiting

I know many are in my position (same RD,ND but no AD). I am not sure if you guys sent any fax inquiry yet.

My lawyer said, he cannot send fax inquiry right now for following reasons although technically INS is saying Oct15 as processing dates for Vermont service center:
1. He spoke to INS officer and the INS officer said that 'its been declared freeze is over, but we still haven't really started working on 485 cases yet'. (I was surprised and told my lawyer I see atleast couple of approvals everyday  )
2. although processing date say Oct 15th, they are still working on quite a few September cases. (again we are seeing November and december cases approvals too  )

So , in all, I am confused and not sure how to convince my lawyer to send a fax inquiry.

Have anyone tried contacting senator for your cases ? Does this affect our case negatively anyways, or does the lawyers come to know about this or does it annoy INS or lawyers ?

Inputs appreciated !

Well, he can send a fax inquiry, but he may be trying to tell you that INS might not give him a useful answer. That's my suspicion here.

Your best bet to get information is to call VSC directly. Instead of asking them a question they cannot answer, ask them "where is the file?" Do a search on this forum for my posts, or for RAFICS and you'll see an old post of mine on how to ask useful questions of IIOs that they *can* answer, and give you useful information.

Only after you do this should you get in touch with a Representative's or Senator's office. (Members of the House of Representatives typically have fewer constituents to deal with, although they also have smaller staffs.)

I wouldn't worry about the lawyer finding out. You're paying the guy, so he can either shut up and keep your money, or he can decide not to represent you further.
