Hi Guys,

Just spoke with IIO, to check status of my case. Stereo type
answer - case still pending, give another 30 days....
I know this doesnot help anything, thought to post anyway.

Harapatta,

I got similar response y\'day. I was told my case is ready for review by an officer and it shouldn\'t be too long :)

Well, let\'s keep each other informed.

iio said 6-8 weeks for 10/3/00 RD

I too spoke to an IIO yesterday. He was very friendly and informed
me that my finger prints were available and that the cases around
oct 1 RDs were getting assigned to officers and therefore mine would
not be long before getting assigned. So he asked me to expect 6-8
weeks reasonably. Also he said after getting assigned it should not
take more than a month to get a decision.
Case details:
PD 9/9/99
RD 10/3/00
ND 11/3/00
FP 2/3/01
EB2/RIR/INDIA
EAC-01-027-xxxx

Don\'t bet on it

EAD using 90 day rule in INS, Newark - questions

All,

If you have the experience of getting the interim EAD card in Newark or if you know the answers on getting a replacement at Newark, please help me with the following:

My wife\'s first EAD expires on Aug 15th (tomorrow). We applied for renewal of her EAD in May (the INS receipt says RD May 23, 2001). The AVM only recently got updated and it says, we received your I 765 on... June 11 and it takes 60 to 90 days...

So unless we are lucky in the next 2 days, it seems like we have to go to the local INS to get my wife an EAD under the 90-day rule.

Questions:

1. As per my calculations, the 90 days from May 23rd will be on Aug 19th. Can we go on a Saturday (Aug 18th?) and get the EAD? Has anyone succesfully received it on a Saturday?
2. Is the INS going to calculate religiously when the 90 day mark is reached? Or will they be happy to entertain us a day ahead of schedule?

3. What do we need to take with us. Photos? I 765 filled?

I recognize some one recently posted the same query but did not receive many responses. Would appreciate if any one can throw some light as we do not wish to lose a working day on this task if possible.

Thanks again

GRV
