Spoke to IIO - 485 is pending but in the work area

[485seeker]

I spoke to IIO this morning. She said that my and wife\'s 485 application are in the work area. On asking what that meant - she said that it is waiting to be assigned.

Can somebody throw more light on this as to what kind of wait I can expect from this stage ? Do applications remain in the work area for months or they get assigned to officers quickly ?

My experience

This is just my thoughts. My case was in the
work area since 02/06/2001, and then it was
assigned on 09/06/2001. But on 09/19/2001, it
was returned to "location" due to expired FP and
stays there even since.

RD: 03/29/2000
ND: 04/13/2000
FP1: 05/30/2000
FP2: 11/08/2001

How lucky some people in CSC are. Saw one approval with
RD 04/2001.

See my posting "If your FP is more than a year....". I tried that and it worked out for me.
