Speeding ticket question.

A few years ago, I received, for the first and only time, a speeding ticket. I went through drivers ed. and it no longer shows on my records. This incident had completely escaped my mind. I, unintentionally, answered "No" on my N-400 application regarding the receipt of traffic violations. I did not remember that I did, in fact, get a ticket until I saw related threads on this forum.

Will that be a problem? If so, how to fix?

How convenient that we don't mention the traffic citation which happened many years ago, but we remember it in time to ask for advice on the immigration board... Full disclosure is required when dealing with the US govt, selective amnesia has been know to cause bloating of the stomach and butt aches...

If you have documentation relating to this issues, bring them to the interview and when the IO asks you about citation, mention that you want to amend your answers and tell him/her about your ticket. How much was the fine? It the ticket didn't involve drugs, alcohol and prostitution and it beyond 5 years, you are fine. Plus the fine is below $500. Just be honest, you will be amazed at what it does to your apetite for 8 grain bread with pecans...:)

Hah, I honestly did forget. Why would I lie about such a trivial thing? :)

The ticket was for 70$ I believe. It happened 4 years ago. It involved me going 6 mph over the limit at 3am in the morning. :(

Don't worry about disclosing or bringing documents. This is a minor traffic violation, fined under $500 and not DUI related. You don't have to mention it during the interview either. If the IO asks, which I doubt he/she will, just mention briefly.
