Special Registration

Hello,

We have a situation with special registration. Did the first time special registration and after that every time left county, did registration at the airport. Now there is a RFE for the EAD to prove 30 day registration compliance. Didnot know that had to do 30 day registration even after the registration at the airport. Any advice?

Special Registration -30 day compliance

Hi FVIRGO,

What exactly does your rfe say? Does it explicitly ask for the proof of registration again within 30 days of your reentry? I’m not sure if you are correctly interpreting the term ‘30 day registration compliance’. Please explore the following link (Google search) -http://www.ice.gov/pi/specialregistration/index.htm. I quote from there- “Nonimmigrants must notify the DHS in writing within 10 days of any changes in address, employment or school after remaining in the United States for 30 days or more.” And, I understand the 30 day compliance as such, not to register again within 30 days of reentry. Did you have any of the conditions mentioned here? However, I may be wrong. This is my first post/response; please use the information at your justification.

Thanks so much for the info! Well, it seems that may be we need to re-register within 10 days only after any changes in employment, address etc and in my case it didnot happen so I am in compliance because i have provided USCIS with my FIN# and with NSEERS compliance. I have my company's lawyer who is working on the reply to the RFE.
