Special instruction of photo requirement for an interview

I am ready for my interview next week and I know a lot of selectees are so much excited this once in a lifetime interview. Ones who already passed this excited moment and got their greencard are concerning about what they are going to do with their new life in American while the ones waiting for the interview are focusing on acheiving the best possible outcome of this coming. I don't know what it will be but I know I can make up my mind to accept the result no matter how it is.

Let go back to the subject I wrote this topic. I just noticed the special instruction of photo requirement for the interview. Having been searchig the old posts, I see no one talking about this at all, so I am pretty sure each region and country have different requirement. For my country, they need 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches in white background and the face must show 3/4 part of the right side to see the right ear clearly. When I had my photo taken, the professional photographer at the studio asked me to bend my face to the left a little bit in order to show 3/4 of the right face and ear.

This is the first time I have seen this requirement. I asked the photographer and he told me he used to take like this before and it was the special requirement for ones applying for greencard/ permanent visa. This is what I want to share with your folks here. Do you have the same instruction?:)

No...no..no...3/4 to the right is the old standard for green card photo. They don't do this anymore. Today, the photo has to be 2 inches X 2 inches on a white background with head straight looking at the camera.

Gerindo,

I had my photo taken as mentioned in the photo instruction of the 2nd package KCC sent me. It is 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inche front face with showing 3/4 of the right face and clearly see the right ear. It is possible that different country has different instuction. I also used this photo when doing medical examination. The doctor said nothing. Speaking frankly, this is the first time I had my photo taken like this too. But it clearly states this special photo requirement in the 2nd package So, I believe I should comply to what KCC mentions. I am just wondering what it does mention in others' 2 package. Same as me or mentions different instruction? Anyway, Thanks for your comment. For safe side, I will also consider taking 2 x 2 photo for just in case.

Not sure why you get an instruction like that since it's clearly that the USCIS regulation says about the new photo requirement.

Just make 2 types of photos so you can always give the other format if they want it. I know for sure that for the immigrant visa and the green card, you will need the 2X2 photo facing front.

Gerindo and LA1,

Thanks for your helpful comment. Yes, I consider to take another 2 x 2 pictures as well since the cost of taking it is not expensive and I can use it for my future use. I also think the instruction I got here is outdated because the photo instruction I got from KCC has 2 sides; one in English and the other in my native language. It is possible that they has no one to translate a new instruction to my language, so they still follow the old form.
