SOS: Got fax responses from INS

Hi,

I got two fax responses. One was 3 weeks back saying my
long-waiting I480 case will be assigned to an officier
for adjudication. Yesterday, I got another fax from INS
saying my file is in NRC (National Records Center?)
and asked me to contact NRC for inquiries.

What is NRC? How to contact them? What\'s the implication
of this? Anyone had the same situation?

Many thanks!

Sandy

I just though maybe it was to do with files lying in another service center

Well. I have no idea was NRC is.
Sorry.

From what I heard with respect to 485 processing is

once your I140 is approved(doesn\'t matter where you apply), your file is sent to the Record center......At the time of 485 processing, for some cases, they may need your I140 file(though you\'d sent your I140 approval notice) and have to request it from the Record center....

But I dunno how to check your record status with them though.

Thanks, Guys!

The INS fax reponses is so confusion. It mentioned NRC without
definition; it asked me to contact them, but not telling me
how...... I poked around on the web but could not find any
way of contacting NRC. If they are just a Records Center,
why I have to contact them because they are not processing
485.

hmmmm...

They don\'t process your I1485 but they have to send your I140 file to INS

to resume processing!!! I don\'t think you can do anything about it though!!

Nope

there is an NRC where all records of federal govt of every time & time are archived. I remember INS opening an NRS subsidiary with great fanfare in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The plan was thay, they want to centralize all the alien records (A-files) currently stored in all local INS offives. But I cannot comprehend what your I-140 has to do with NRC. Anyways, may be your attorney would have some clue what these guys are talking about.

Sandy28. I am on the same boat

I received call from my attorney at the same day as you posted the
message. My file has been sent to National Record center ,too.
Please contact me.
