son needs to change name

Dear all,
I am going to file N-600 for my son soon. He needs a name change. But throughout N-600, there is not place asking if needs a name change. Does anyone know the procedures doing this?
Should I
1)Go to the court to change the name. Since then it's his legal name,
2)Send the N600 application with the new name, together with the court documents.

you need to do both 1) and 2) since only a court can do the name change.

N-400 accommodates name changes, but N-600 doesn't. So you have to take care of your son's name change separately.
