We have debated and ranted and raved about what our country and it's political system has degenerated to.
Earlier on in May 2002 the supreme court ruled that all participants in the parliamentay elections should disclose their assets/liabilities, their criminal record and educational qualification. If there is any falsification it will be considered a crime.
Following which in July all political parties agreed to disagree. Now a petition is being written to the Legislative/Executiary houses to enforce that bill.
Our job is to endorse that petition so that we can have unqualified, beetle juice spitting candidates out of our parliament.

Actually I am waiting for this kind of propsal from long time .Hope supreme Court passes an order that certain desired skills are required for all the political positions

Atleast someone posted a non-immigration useful post.

Something should be done to clean our political system, these politicians just come to power with one goal, grab whatever you can and then try get re-elected.

Its a shame that people with pending murder, land grabbing etc charges are making poilicies for us.

The site is very slow, but worth it.

Not sure if the petition would have any legal effect on the legislation. But, at the least, it would signal the politicians of a growing trend among the citizens. And, it lets us know that there are many many other people who are equally tired of this crap that the politicians are doling out.

This may help in the gathering of a few droplets before the flood starts. May be some educated person might decide to contest as an independent, in an election, when he/she sees a betel nut or a coconut vendor being propped up by the already existing rotten political parties.

And, MAY BE, some educated people might decide to start a party of their own, which will definitely have the support of the literate masses.

A lot of hopes and "may be"s ... but we will wait and see.

Leave the action to YOU??? I think not; all you will do is use foul language thinking that it will shake people up into following your lead! What you don't realise is that it turns people off of what good you might think that you are doing!

How are you doing today, Sharabi? Doing good? What happened to that thread "Out of Pakistan" that was started by you? Where is it? I was soo looking forward to reading that article that you took so much pain in cutting and pasting here, out of your stupid but "good "heart, for the sake of other people! :)
