Hi all,
Yesterday I got an e-mail with the date of my K-3 visa interview in montreal, Nov. 23. We were digging in for a long, long wait so this was unexpected.
So now I have some questions.
1) It looks like my hubby (USC) does not have to be at this interview. The letter just asks for the applicant to be there. Would it help if he came with me? He can, it's just a matter of a plane ticket.
2) Can anyone confirm that the K-3 visa IS multiple entry while it's valid?
3) In what cases is it NOT valid? Once I have applied for a green card, do I need to stay in the US? I plan to apply for an EAD once I get there so that I can work at my husband's university part-time. Will that affect the validity of the K-3?
4) IF I have the opportunity to work here in Canada for the first few months of 2010, which is possible, is it a problem if I move all my stuff down to my husband's place on the K-3, then come back here and work for a bit? Do I have to be actually residing in the US to apply for an EAD or GC?
5) Any problems bringing my car over the border? It's mine, all payments long since finished.
6) Should I apply for an EAD and a GC at the same time? (Can you do that?) That way I can work soon, and we can meanwhile get the GC process started?
Sorry for the many questions, I hope it's not too much trouble. I really appreciate all your help in the past!!
Thank you.
