Social Security Tax and Medicare Not Deducted

Hello Friends and Gurus of Immigration:

It recently came to my notice after very long discussions with many friends(HONESTLY) that the SSN and Medicare will be deducted in every H1B case.

I was in the impression for a very very long time that only people who come solely on a H1B visa to the USA will have this deducted and THAT THE PEOPLE WHO DO MASTERS OR BACHELORS HERE IN USA ON F1 VISA AND THEN CONVERT TO H1B WILL HAVE THIS SSN and Meciare WAIVED.

The whole story is to ASK any guru if this will be a problem when I go for Consular Processing to Chennai in India as I have my last two year W2s where the SSN and Medicare sections are empty.

If this is a Problem then how should I get it corrected. OI have not yet talked to my lawyer but I wanted to hear the voice of many others who might have heard anything like this!

I have been very comfortable with this thought that every other document is fine, but a very recent discussion has put me in lot of confusion and thought!

Can some body please reply to this...I hope this is the right place to post this thread.

Thanks - GC143

I have a similar condition. My SSN & Medicare were not deducted by my company for a couple of years. I was later told by the HR that I should have brought this to their notice when I saw it in the paycheck. I asked them if it would be a problem later. I was told there wouldn't be one. I would like to see if anyone can clarify this for me.
Will it be an issue when I go for the CP?
Appreciate any replies.
