Social Security Number on H4

My wife has just entered US on H4. Is it possible/recommended to get an SSN for her? If yes how?

Are there any other documents that she should be getting ? Any help with folks on H4 visa will be helpful.

You can not obtain SSN on H4 visa.
You are not eligible to work on H4 visa, this is a very simple fact. :)

They stopped issuing SSN for those without work permit in late 90's.
