A kid can apply for a social security number as soon as they are born. i guess the parents have to apply for them.haha

No minimum age..If the person under 16 y.o. then parents should go to social security office and apply for the child. According to the document given to us by the consular office along with brown envelopes, in order to apply for ssn for the child parents should bring to ss office their own birth certificates, passports and photos also. For others, older than 16 y.o. ssn comes automaticly.
