I just got my GC through employment. Do I need a new SSN? I already have a SSN for the last 13 years I've lived here.

you do not need a new SSN card, but you can apply for one if you wish. The SSN number will remain the same, but the new card will no longer have the text regarding "not valid for work without INS authorization"

I applied for a new one and got rid of - not valid for work without INS authorization. Its free...why not get it?

what to take to SS office

i just got my green card and would like to update my ssn card to remove the work restrictions.. what do i need to take with me to the ss office .. please post?
