No questions were asked. Finger printing + stamping took about 30 minutes. There were about 6-7 new immigrants.

I asked the immigration officer about the change of address. He said that I should try not to change address. Is there any known impact of this in receiving the plastic card ?

About the change of address, according to other posts on this forum, INS will send the plastic cards to the address stated in the immigrant visa and these will NOT be forwarded even if you have moved to a new address.

If you absolutely need to change address after entering, you may need to fill form AR-11 and send it to the INS immidiately and follow up with a phone call to verify that they have changed the address.

In my case, I had already moved to a new address prior to entering the US. At the POE, I informed the immigration officer that I had moved to a new address and she striked out the old address and wrote down the new address in the immigrant visa and said that the plastic cards will be sent to the new address.
