Slowdown with start of new fiscal year?

I was wondering if people think that there might be a temporary slowdown in the processing of I-485 cases now that a new fiscal year has started at the USCIS?

For example, as far as I know, at least some resources will have to go towards processing 60,000 or so pending H1B cases now that October 1st has arrived. And, maybe there's standard overhead associated with the start/end of each fiscal year which needs to be taken care of?

Maybe people who have been following the USCIS / VSC for a few years have some insight into this?

I believe there will be some slow down during holidays [Nov+Dec]
and also believe officers processing H1B and GC's are different.

It's still early but so far things seem to have slowed to a crawl since 10/01 based on the approvals on this forum and at rupnet.com (5 approval postings in 2 days vs some days with 14 approvals earlier).

Hopefully things will improve for the rest of the week...
