Slowdown at NSC

Guys,
Many of you have probably seen the reasons for slowdown at NSC. They also talk about reducing time for EAD and AP

Here it is again

NSC PROCESSING TIPS AND INFORMATION:
> Employment Based I-485 Adjustment Cases:
> On a recent conference call with the NSC, they indicated that, for the remainder of fiscal year 2003, there will be a very limited number of officers assigned to employment-based adjustment cases. The remaining officers who normally work employment-based adjustment cases will be working on asylum-based and religious worker adjustment cases. The July 15, 2003 processing time report showed that NSC was processing asylum-based adjustment cases with receipt dates on or before 4/1/99.

I-765 Work Authorization and I-131 Advance Parole Processing:
NSC also announced that over the next several weeks they anticipate reduced processing times on I-765s and advance parole applications filed in conjunction with I-485 applications. NSC emphasized that their effort to reduce the processing times would be greatly enhanced if AILA members filed applications for the principal and all dependents together. They also said that because security and identity issues are of great concern, each application should have attached the following documentation: G-28, clear copies of the relevant photo ID and photo ID page of the applicant's passport, proof of relationship to the principal, all relevant I-797 notices, if applicable, and a receipt notice, if applicable. While NSC recognizes that this may involve some redundancy, if each application is prepared to stand alone, processing times will be reduced.

re-read and it is different than

what you think:

" NSC also announced that over the next several weeks they anticipate reduced processing times on I-765s and advance parole applications filed in conjunction with I-485 applications......"

It says "reduced processing times" , which is a good thing.

Ghee- your reply was not clear

Ghee,

What do you mean by reread the sentences. I thought reducing "processing times" in the text refers to EAD's and AP documents and not to I-485's.

So don't you think I-485's would still proceed at a nail's pace.

may be you are right

but these news that we hear, every once in a while don't carry any convincing weight. most of them are merely gossips.

This one isnt

At least partially, my wife got EAD in 33 days, I got mine 6 days later.

while, it seems not just gossip

my congressmen got the same information from NSC today when she checked the status for my case. NSC told her that the normal processing for i-485 based on EB will not be resumed until 2 months later.

what could be worse?

wrose could have been that they wouldn't resume it for 6 months, but i look at it as just two months, which is a small bump when we are all already waiting for almost 2 years....

Hopefully, when they do start processing EB cases, they will give dedicate more resources since they stoped processing them for 2 months or so.

six of one and half a dozen of another

I don't think they stopped processing. I think that they simply diverted resources to the religious cases. The one good thing is that they are still processing 485's (just not those for heathen workers). Our cases should go a little faster when they resume since the religious cases will be out of the way.
