Situation with Employment Based Perm Processing

Greetings Everyone,

I filed my green card with my current employer and received the approval notice for my I-140 on 23/4/08. My priority dates are not current so I cannot yet file for my final stages (I-485). Due to some unavoidable circumstances I have to now transfer H1 to a different company.

My question is if I change companies now is there a possibility that I can have my new company take over the rest of the process, without having to start from the beginning from filing the perm/labor.
If so what needs to be done in order to port it to the new employer?
Also how much involvement is required from my current employer for the procedure.

You will have to start entire process with new employer but you can keep your Priority date. so nothing to worry you are not loosing any thing.
