My husband got a traffic ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. THere was no accident involved, he couldnt change lanes fast enough for an officer on a motorcycle and the guy wrote him a ticket and told him he would just have to pay a fine. We got a lawyer who appeared for him at his court date. The judge wouldnt allow this, and set a new court date for October. The lawyer sent us a letter saying he hoped to get an SIS sentence which is a suspended sentence and a type of probation. what does this mean for his green card? he has his 10 year card now. can they revoke it? can they deport him? can he still apply for citizenship??? he couldnt change the lane because traffic was heavy and he didnt seen the office in time. we dont know what to do. please advise. thank you.

I do not think there will be any heavy outcomes. It happens. You'll pay a fine.
When he will apply for citizenship though, he will definitely need to list this one ( unlike the debate on regular speeding tickets, I think this one has to be listed for sure ).
