Single entry B2 visa

My mom granted B2 visa tourist visitor for pleasure on July .expiration of her visa is 10th of october2006. (she was able to get multiple but she was a little bit worried when consular asked her about single or multiple entry :D)
i want her to visit me on 1st of october . In case if they give her 90 days .so she could return home on 1st of january.plese cuold you share your experience at port of entry in USA. what questions do they ask ? how should you answer if you want 6 month visa.

She has a valid visa..The entry visa is usually given for 6 months. Since your mom is an elderly woman, I doubt they will give her any troubles.

They just ask where she will be staying.
I would recommend her to come Sep 1 though.

why would you recommend to come in sept1 ?. when entry visa expires in 10 october? i think even if she will enter on 9th october it will be fine.3 month max given for single entry B2 visa as far as i know. Immigration officers stamp will be decision whether she should stay 90 days or 180 days.
 
You are right. Even if she comes on the 9th of Oct. it's ok. The IO at the airport will determine her duration of stay. But it will be better if you give a few days margin, since you should also consider that the flight could be delayed etc.
