Simultaneous H1 and B2 visas...

Hi folks!

I have to travel to the US on B2 visa through my current Indian employer. My H1B petition through another US employer has also been approved and I would like to join the US employer after I finish my assignment with the current employer. To avoid appearing at the consulate twice, can I apply for B2 as well as H1B visa stamping at the same time? I am in Mumbai zone.

You mean B1 - not B2.

It would not look good to apply for both in a single visit as it looks like you intend to convert from B1 to H1B after finding a project; this is not the purpose of a B1 visa.
