Hey folks,

I have an October16th RD, my EAD expires on 25th Feb 2003,
well, I am working on my EAD, I had to switch jobs after 180 days..
Do you think I should apply for an EAD renewal?....my lawyer insists I should. I personally feel I should get an approval till then, well, but then again it is INS...

There is 90% chance that you will get your approval by 02/25/03. But probably the question is how safe you want to play? There is that 10% chance that you may not get your approval by then and if you don't, you cannot work until you get your EAD or Approval after 02/25/03. I am not sure how much it will cost you to file for EAD extension (lawyer fee etc.) but it is your call.

By the way even if you want to file for EAD extension still you can wait until 11/24/02, because one need to wait 90 days prior to getting iEAD and there is app. 70-80% chance that you will get your approval by then.

the iEAD is a question mark right now....if it were me,,i would go ahead and apply the EAD...to be on the safer side....
during the planning phase, it does not hurt to consider the worst case scenario....right?
 
I agree with KMN...EAD is only a small expense. Anothe thing with iEAD is if you are in market and you have authorization to work for only a few weeks, nobody will hire you or you may have to give lengthy explanations etc. Better apply 6 months in advance and get 2nd EAD before the 1st expires.
