Significant improvement in processing times

Folks,
According to a recent USCIS press release at www.uscis.gov:

During FY09, USCIS’ goal is to achieve a 20 percent reduction in processing times for the majority of key petitions and applications, in spite of having to work through an unexpected surge of applications received during FY07. The agency plans a five-month processing time for naturalization applications (N-400s) and a four-month processing time for both adjustment of status applications (I-485s) and petitions for alien workers
(I-140s).

I was expecting such an announcement after the election. Their focus has been primarily on naturalization cases before the election due to political pressure on them so that new citizens could vote.

Let's hope they will be able to keep up with their promise.

I really hope so. Our I-485s got stuck b/c we submitted in July of 2007. I asked for an SR since my son's I-485 submitted in November of 2007 got approved. No response so far.

There is definitly a mistake. Because derivateive cannot be approved with out primary applicant. Why do not you send a fax to TSC
